# Top Up Guideline
This guide explains how to top up credits in Chatlyst.
Chatlyst uses two credit types, and each one supports a different function.
* **Knowledge Consolidation Bot Credits (KC Bot)** — Used to train and update business knowledge.
* **AI Response Credits** — Used for AI bot chat handling, including generating and sending responses during conversations.
### How to Top Up

Users can open the Top up page in several ways. Choose the option that is fastest at the time.
* Open **Settings →** [**Billing**](https://www.notion.so/Settings-f3f58ff777ff82df8265815e49b337cb?pvs=21).
* Open **Dashboard → Usage**, then select [**Top up**](/chatlyst-user-guide/dashboard/usage.md).
* **(Recommend)** On the Home page, use the [**Usage Details: Top up shortcut**](/chatlyst-user-guide/getting-started/home.md#usage-details).
* This shortcut is useful when credits are running low.
* It also shows the remaining credit balance.

After selecting **Top up**, Chatlyst redirects to the Billing page. Then select the credit type to purchase.

In the Credit tab, users can review available credits and see a Low Balance reminder in the top-right corner when credits are running low.

The Purchase Credits window appears after selecting the credit type.

A minimum purchase amount of HKD 50 per transaction applies, including cases where the amount is equivalent to HKD 50.

(Optional) Switch credit type or top up both credit types. Use the toggles on the right side of the window.

Review recent usage (last 30 days) to understand how quickly credits are consumed.

Review pricing tiers for the selected credit type. Select View KC Pricing Tiers or View AI Pricing Tier to expand the pricing list. Compare the available tiers and the included credits before continuing.

Drag the slider to set an amount, or enter an exact number in the input field.

Review the purchase summary to confirm the credit amount and total cost, then select **Pay**.

If the amount does not meet the minimum payment requirement of HKD 50, the Pay option is disabled and displayed in grey.

In the Complete Purchase window, enter payment details, then select **Pay** to submit payment and complete the purchase.

**Other Options:**
* Save purchase information — Select the checkbox to save purchase information for faster checkout next time.
* Breakdown — Select **View Details** to review the purchase breakdown before payment.
* Quick checkout with Link — If there is a Link account, select **Pay with Link** for faster checkout.

### Purchase Confirmation
* After the purchase is complete, Chatlyst redirects back to the [Billing](/chatlyst-user-guide/settings/billing.md) page. Confirm the purchase in Transaction History, where the new purchase record appears.
* Chatlyst will also send a receipt to your email with downloadable links for both the invoice and receipt.
